Armed robbery and possession of unlicensed firearm charges for Pinetown suspects

Three suspects aged between 24 and 26  are due to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court facing armed robbery and possession of unlicensed firearm charges.

The suspects will appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 9 May after being arrested by the Durban K9 Unit on Monday, 9 May at Otto Volek road in Pinetown.

It is alleged that the victim and her gardener were at their home when they noticed a Silver VW Polo parking at the gate. The gardener approached the suspects who pretended to be looking for someone living in the area. The suspects proceeded to bang on the door forcing the petrified victim to lock herself and the gardener indoors for safety, she pressed the panic button and the suspects fled the scene. The matter was reported to the police and Durban K9 members began a search for the suspects who were spotted in the same vehicle fitting the same description The three suspects were arrested and were found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
