KZN Philharmonic Orchestra holds Mothers’ Day concert at Wavehouse
Durbanites will have a chance to spoil mum with some enchanting musical magic in the company of the glorious KZN Philharmonic Orchestra and soloists on Sunday 14 May 2017 at 3pm at the Wavehouse in Gateway.
The concert features the sublime KZN Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Lykele Temmingh joined by a feast of soloists: celebrity muso and four times platinum artist Ard Matthews. Durban’s darling Natalie Rungan; Durban divo Clive Gumede; and mother/daughter duo Debbie and Leah Mari.
The programme comprises of timeless classics, romantic ballads and iconic hits including My Baby Just Cares For Me; The Prayer; This is the Moment; Impossible Dream; What a Wonderful World; Imagine; Shallow Waters; Take Me There and That’s Love.
“We are delighted to be able to offer a family-friendly afternoon concert designed to affirm and spoil all of our Mothers,” said Bongani Tembe, Chief Executive and Artistic Director of the KZN Philharmonic. “Relaxing accessible alfresco concerts provide a counterpoint to the orchestra’s more structured indoor symphony season series and the myriad of education and development outreach work.”
