Parents slain by son. Decomposed bodies found in Phoenix home
PHOENIX- A Phoenix man in his twenties has been taken into police custody after the decomposed bodies of his parents were found in their family home a week after he allegedly murdered them. It is believed he stayed in the house with the dead bodies till yesterday, February 27.
The bodies were found by the mother’s brother, who had gone to visit them after he had not been able to contact both his sister (50) and her husband for a number of days. It is alleged that the suspect had previously told his uncle that his parents were away on holiday but when the uncle arrived at the home in Centenary Park, yesterday afternoon at 12 pm he discovered a foul smell emitting from the house. When he asked to enter the home, the son refused and fled, he then made the gruesome discovery of his slain sister and her husband who was a former police officer.
“The suspect has been arrested and in custody, motive is unknown as investigations are on going at this stage,” said, Lt Col Thulani Zwane, police spokesperson for the SAPS. Updates to follow.
