Twenty years of bead work by local vendor
UMHLANGA – Linda Bezuidenhout (61) has been selling beaded key chains and jewelry among other other items for 20 years.
Although she is a qualified nurse, Bezuidenhout has been making a living from vending for the last 2 decades. Armed with colourful key chains, and bright bracelets, Bezuidenhout sets off on foot, covering 15-20 km everyday.
“I just had a dream and I followed my dream,” said Bezuidenhout. Catering to orders of any kind of bead work, Bezuidenhout creates wedding favors, baby shower tokens and custom gifts.
Samuel Veldman (64) has been helping to create beaded wares for the last 6 years. “We sell key chains, Armour of God bracelets, glasses chains and cross necklaces,” said Veldman.
While Bezuidenhout is out selling the colourful beaded pieces, Veldman experiments with new designs for the little business.
